Post RP Event Ideas
Hey!

RP Events are a lot more work than Combat Events.

We're willing and eager to do them, but we need lots of help. Voulenteer here with your ideas and how you can help contribute!

Thanks in advance!

Post Re: RP Event Ideas
I have a couple of ideas for RP events - that would keep them short and sweet - maybe not so sweet - and enable everyone to participate

Hurl your best insult - at someone - maybe Admin should sit on a perch and we can take turns in throwing out our best IC insult. XP awarded for the best and most creative

Ditto

Best compliment - IC

Best backhanded compliment - "you have become very useful in our family - we always need someone to play dead during battle " - maybe better than that

Best opening line if you want to initiate battle

Best line to avoid a fight " please Sir in my weakened state I would be such a feeble opponent for you " (Joni Jules has been defeated )

just an idea - it would keep be short enough to keep the attention span and enable all to join in if they wish

It could also occur during regular time in Judgement so some of the combat does not get affected - maybe X Admin offers themselves for short RP comments

Post Re: RP Event Ideas
OK, so, taking Baron's 'money where your mouth is' bait and falling for it on purpose, ; )

I offer the following ideas. I will help write the rules and the process stuff to aid these ideas but I will not judge or organize. I don't work here. I'm just a player. I will participate in one or more, happily, as a player as time permits. If a staff member wants to take point on any of these and with, or without my help, get 'em going, feel free either way.

RP event ideas a 'ladder' of participants. Each round an 'event' prescheduled one 'round' of one or the other over a series of nights, ideally ongoing so announcing a 'round' can be almost as turnkey as another combat event:

- The RP combat contest: RP combat, no XRPS or weapons. 20 "turns" (ten each), the 'winner' determined by a judge panel based on the quality of the emotes, how much they take into account the actions of the opponent, how well they reveal both strengths and weaknesses and how well they avoid things like godmodes/metagaming. Pairs play in a ladder. A simple starting premise for each scene is written and handed to each pair 30 minutes before the scene. The contestants have 30 minutes to OOC arrange as they see fit or go in cold.

- The RP sex contest: Same as above, to the hottest go the spoils.

- The RP insult contest: "How gross and detailed can you get in the contest of a scene *WITHOUT* touching the other player?"

- RP 'first meeting' contest. Same as above, to the one who manages, believably, to reveal and discover the most about both characters in a 'first meeting' scene' go the spoils.

- RP capture the flag. An 'item' is placed in a faction base. Contestants need to RP their way in, find the item entirely in text, get the item and move it to their base. The 'winner' is judged not by how well or how long they capture or keep the flag but by the integrity of the RP's.

Advanced contest variations for all of the above: RP as your opposite, gender, sexual orientation, race or whatever. . I'd LOVE to see people get so clear on the IC/OOC thing that people can manage this and that people could SEE others do it.

In my opinion, the *GOOD FAITH* participants in these contests and the most successful competitors should get XP bonuses as significant to their level as those who don't RP and can stay in the high tick Judgement. Make active RP as much a means of becoming XRPS powerful as those who spend most of their time in Judgement.

Good faith OBSERVERS who discuss in a group chat and comment meaningfully as they watch but don't participate should also be bonused. This can and should inspire dialog and critique and questions so, ideally, simultaneous 'class and contest'.

- Jon
